Chabot to Keynote Law Enforcement Awards Gala

Inland Empire, CA – April 27, 2010. 63rd Assembly Candidate, LT Commander (s) Paul Chabot, to keynote Riverside Police Officers Association Annual Awards Gala this Saturday.

Chabot has accepted an invitation to keynote the 2nd Annual Riverside Police Officers Association “Safe in His Arms” Awards Gala and Ceremony. The event is scheduled for May 1st, 2010 at the Riverside Convention Center. This event will honor and showcase all of the Riverside Police Officers, Detectives, and Sergeants who work tirelessly to protect and serve the City of Riverside. Over 300 attendees are expected.

“There is no greater honor than to speak before those who stand the line to ensure our safety. I am truly humbled to be considered for this special event and I am grateful for the Riverside Police Officers Association strong support of my candidacy for the 63rd Assembly,” said Chabot.

Awards include: Police Officer of Year, Police Detective of Year, Police Sergeant of the Year, Rookie Police Officer of Year, the “Safe in His Arms” Heroism Award, Meritorious Service Award (President’s Award), the Unsung Hero / Past Event Award. The evening will also honor all of the 2009 Retirees.

Chabot’s keynote will address the sacred job of the law enforcement professional, the dangers encountered by today’s officers, the American history behind the profession, and support for the spouses of those left behind.

Chabot, the only candidate in the race with a law enforcement background is endorsed by the Riverside Police Officers Association, Riverside Sheriffs Association, San Bernardino School Police Officers Association, California Police Chiefs Association, California Narcotic Officers Association, California Peace Officers Association and the Los Angeles Professional Peace Officers Association.

Chabot has served as a Reserve Deputy with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for the last 15-years. He was a Police Officer at the University of Southern California, a Governor appointed Parole Board Commissioner and White House Senior Advisor to the Drug Czar. Chabot is the founder of Coalition for a Drug Free California and the Inland Valley Drug Free Community Coalition. Chabot entered law enforcement at the age of 16 as a Sheriff Explorer Scout. He is a routine law enforcement guest lecturer.
